Blurb
On the evening of Sofia Claremont's seventeenth birthday, she is sucked into a nightmare from which she cannot wake. A quiet evening walk along a beach brings her face to face with a dangerous pale creature that craves much more than her blood. She is kidnapped to The Shade, an enchanted island where the sun is eternally forbidden to shine. An island uncharted by any map and ruled by the most powerful vampire coven on the planet. She wakes here as a slave, a captive in chains. Sofia's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn when she is selected out of hundreds of girls to take up residence in the tree-top harem of Derek Novak, the dark royal prince. Despite his addiction to power and obsessive thirst for her blood, Sofia soon realizes that the safest place on the island is within his quarters, and she must do all within her power to win him over if she is to survive even one more night. Will she succeed? Or is she destined to the same fate that all other girls have met at the hands of the Novaks?
My Review
To start I would just like to mention that this review is for all of the 'A shade of vampire' books I have read so far, I am currently up to book 22.
From the moment I started reading these books I was hooked, it has everything you could possibly want in supernatural fantasy type books, Vampires, Witches, Werewolves, Fey and much much more. It is completely different from any other vampire books you will read and I think that the author has done a brilliant job in combining both supernatural fantasy with romance. It isn't your typical true love at 1st sight like most romance books these days.
This series of books is completely addictive it ranges from the main couple Derek and Sofia's story to other main characters every 8-10 books (I wont say who as I wouldn't want to spoil it.) We see from each couples point of view, each with their own struggles and how they overcome them. I honestly cannot praise these books enough and wholly recommend them to any romance/ supernatural fantasy lovers.
